layoff - two basics
When faced with a possible layoff two things are important to bear in mind:
1. The notice of dismissal must be in writing, i.e. a notice per e-mail is invalid.
2. If a termination notice is not challenged in due course it will become valid by law even though the termination was actually legally flawed and thus invalid. Usually this means to take specific action in court no later than three weeks after having been served the termination letter.
