hi all
i am a student at a german university in an automotive course moving towards the end of my stuides.i have been contacted by a HR official about the possibilty of getting a job in a big company, but they have asked me about the time frame it normally takes to get a workpermit. Also is the company supposed to get you a workpermit or one has to get it himself. it would be of great help if anyone can answer these questions

you have to apply for workpermit at the Auslanderbehoerde (ABH). ABH will contact with the Arbeitsamt (AA) internally. The company can also take care of all the formalities. They can phone for you to the ABH and may be also to AA to make your process faster.
It should take 4 - 8 weeks to do this process.
