IF I stayed outside Germany for long period

Hello all,
I would like to go to my home country for a long period about 8 months, I will keep my registration here in Germany in a friend address or may in my flat..
I am a GreenCardler also,,
I will be without a job but will not claim arbeitslosgeld.
does any body know if my GC will be cancelled or I will be able to come back after 8 months...
any help...

AFAIK 6 months out, it gets cancelled.
