@Amol,
Do you know whether any specific document is required by the Indian embassy to issue the certificate or is passport enough ?.
Thanks

Re: Getting birth certificate from Delhi while in Germany
Passport is enough. It will not be a Birth certificate. Rather embassy/consulate will issue a letter stating your dob as mentioned on your passport and you'll get it on the same day. for citizenship matter ask them for this letter in German, so that later there'll not be a need to translate it.

Re: Getting birth certificate from Delhi while in Germany
@all
I called munich consulate and they confirmed that they can issue such a document (birth certificate). They need passport and application for the same.
i request more people to approach consualte for such purposes so that they realise the need of such services within Germany and make it more convinient for all of us. The good thing is that you will get all such documents hassle free w/o bribing Sarkari BABUs in india, and on top w/o any delay.

Re: Getting birth certificate from Delhi while in Germany
I used it with my CTZ application in August but so far I didn't get any objection. I hope it will work but you never know! Anybody having experience with this?

Re: Getting birth certificate from Delhi while in Germany
@goodfaith,
Yes, it worked without any issues.
I submitted application on plain paper giving my details from the passport in person to CGI Munich.
in one week i got my Birth Cetificate by post.
Truely speaking, its not really a Birth Certificate. They simply give it on plain paper with consulate stamp, stating that "as per our records the DOB is so and so...". It could happen that beamter reject it. Try your luck.
Please note that you need to get it translated in German, becuase consulate do not issue any document in German.
