breach of contract

Hi,

Could you please tell me what happens if anybody breaches a contract after signing. The case is like - an employee has signed a job contract to start the job at a later date. after sometimes (may be 2/3 months) he decides not to join there. is it possible that he revokes his contract at a later time and does not join there? what could be the problems?
