What After Citizenship
Does anybody have the documentation or the information what is actually means legally if we take German Citizenship? What all needs to be taken care in India? Where all we need to inform? What are change in banking and investment rules.
It will be helpful to take the decision.

What is actually means legally if we take German Citizenship?
It legally means that you are a german citizen, and your loyalty stays with Germany, even in the unlikely event of war with India.
What all needs to be taken care in India
If you have recently acquired german citizenship, make sure you get your OCI/PIO asap. As long as you dont have OCI/PIO, your all the assets (both fixed and liquid) in India are illegal and can be confiscated any time by indian government.
Where all we need to inform? What are change in banking and investment rules.
Send a copy of your OCI/PIO to your banks in India, where you have your NRE/NRO account. They would revoke your NRI status and change it to foreigner.
Remember you are no longer an NRI!

this is not correct!! OCI/PIO holders can still hold NRE accounts and OCI is at par with any NRI with some minor exceptions. Perhaps it is enough to inform your bank
