Einbürgerung - Success Story
Hi All,
After living in germany for 8 years and 1 month i have finally got my German Citizenship. My sincere thanks to this forum members and Detlef for showing us the way.
Short info about the Timeframe.
Student 2000 - 2002
Work 2002 - 
BE 2005
Application for NE 09/2007
Application for Citizenship 11/2007
NE 02/2008
Citizenship 04/2008
All applications in Frankfurt, Hessen. For Citizenship have submitted Integration Course Certificate. Normally takes longer(1 year or more) in Hessen but probably becos of having applied for NE just before Citizenship application could have made the process faster for me. Can count myself as one of the luck ones.

Congratulations raj, I have a couple of questions though.
Why didn't you apply for citizenship a year or 2 before?
Do you think it's a good idea to attempt that after 6 years?

Yes, atleast in Hessen

I finished my Integration course only last year and applied after that. Dont think i had the eligibility 2 years before.

Convincing the Beamter about the 6 year thing will be a herculean task as it is vaguely framed. Anyways you can try your luck. It may work out.

(3) Weist ein Ausländer durch die Bescheinigung des Bundesamtes für Migration und Flüchtlinge die erfolgreiche Teilnahme an einem Integrationskurs nach, wird die Frist nach Absatz 1 auf sieben Jahre verkürzt. Bei Vorliegen besonderer Integrationsleistungen, insbesondere beim Nachweis von Sprachkenntnissen, die die Voraussetzungen des Absatzes 1 Satz 1 Nr. 6 übersteigen, kann sie auf sechs Jahre verkürzt werden.

Now, a complete new life starts for you: thinking what "color" to vote, forgetting about visas... lucky you!
