work permit

Hi,

Iam from India and new to this place,studying in sweden and i came to do my master thesis in Bonn.
my work is till the end of next feb here which was given by my research institute. But I was given work permit by the visa authorities only for 3 months initially and they said they will extend for the remaining period which usually happens with the students.
the people of ausländerabteilung der bundesstadt bonn are telling me now that they will send my file to arbeitsamt office and they cant extend my work permit any more
can any one help me in this regard r how u solved such kind of problems, time is less for me,
ur reply will be greatly appreciated, do u know any persons who came for only for their thesis into Germany in a company r in a research isntitute. Time is less for me and ur reply will be greatly appreciated
