Problems for VOIP settings in AVM Fritzbox 7170 (Kabel BW)
Hi All,
This month I have shifted my Internet provider from Deutsche Telekom to Kabel BW.
Since I call more to India, I use Internet telephony & registered with ActionVoip (Betamax) as VOIP provider. I used to call thru Dect phone connected to Router using SIP settings and everything was perfect with Telekom.
I tried to use same SIP settings with Dect phone connected to AVM Fritzbox 7170 which is connected to Kabel BW modem, but its not successful. Every time I call, I get a busy tone after dialling the Tel no & I have seen a message in log file that Internet telephony with 0091xxxxxx was not successful Error: 503.
Calls directly from PC & notebook works fine.
Also but other VOIP for e.g. Sipgate works fine without any problems
Can anybody help please?

Hi ,
Have you tried other destinations with this Route?.
Do you get the same busy tone also for other destinations ?

yes I tried to call German mobile also.....but same busy tone.......
Also my contract with Telecom is till end of this month and with telecom it works fine......
any suggestions?

What i can suggest is , isolate the problem as much as possible and check on the router if Firewall is active,if ports are blocked etc..
I am not sure if these kind of issues/Discussion are of interest to others.
In case of further support, i could remotely connect to your router and check - Am reachable on sudeep.pondala@gmail.com

It should be problem with the ports. Please check with the softphone (actionvoip software) from your PC. If you are not able to call from PC, then you can raise the request with Kabel BW.

run wireshark/ethereal and check if you could sucessfully register using your dect phone. if you can register, then try to trace further what happens if you attempt the call. if you can call from PC, then probably ports are not blocked. I dont know about DECT but most of SIP VOIP phones come with MAC ID. perhaps your provider checks MAC id for security reasons.

yes.I managed to plug properly as there was some loose connection.
Jokes apart,Iam having also Telecom DSL which is valid till next week.I also had SIP settings on Telecom router, so I deleted the settings on Telecom Router & reconfigured Fritzbox settings.Thats it.
