Cancelling Privat rente and loosing all money

Dear All,

I had a private "Renteversicherung" with Allianz, when I was working in my old company(I was paying 100 euro from my brutto and company was adding 20 euro = 120 Euro) . Now I moved to a new company and this company did not want to take this insurance, advised me to do such insurance with them.(As this new company has such insurance policy for the employees). And I cancelled my insurance with allianz. Allianz replied, I do get back no money, although I paid 1710 Euro. They told as I have this paid for only 14 months, so no maturity and no money back.

Does anyone has any idea or experience?
Any advice?
