Family reunion visa for Indian Spouse

Hi,

I have an Indian origin and have German Passport. I have married in December 2004 with an Indian Girl living in India. We have applied
a Visa (family reunion) for her on 13.01.2005 at German Embassy in Delhi.
I live in Berlin and my wife will live also in Berlin. I have been told by German Embassy in Dehli that the file will be sent to Local Police office in Berlin
(Ausländerbehörde) in Berlin soon. I will get a letter from Local Police office in Berlin (Ausländerbehörde) to show my papers (work contract,
salary pay, rent contract etc.) in few weeks. Local Police office in Berlin (Ausländerbehörde) will send after viewing my papers their final ok to German Embassy in Delhi. My wife will get a letter from German Embassy Delhi that her Visa is ready. It should take all together 8-10 weeks.
Does somebody have experience? Can you give my some important tips or other important information.

It is more than 2 weeks over and I have heard nothing !

Thanks
Mohan

Yes, the whole process takes 8-10 weeks. If you chase your local office regularly it can be done a bit faster.

Read the previous posts, i have posted all my experiences here last year.

Well, as an alternative, you can try to teach the german officer your indian local language

I am sorry, I had to do this joke, when I read your question. No offence !

If you translate it, then the process would be faster. I guess, you can do that it on your own. In my case i did it in Goethe Chennai, and produced a copy of that here.

so what ? then you can teach the German officer English as an alternative of translating it to German?

ohh.. or do you think that every individual on earth should understand English ? oh, boy.. you are not living in an ex-british colony anymore..

Guys, if you are from india, you can get it done in any Goethe institut branches or in German chamber of commerce with their stamping in it. It costed 400 Indian rupees for me!! (I did it in chennai)

Hey, I am again in Germany. I will do marriage certificate translation in German. Any legalized tranlation office can attest it. It should be accepted in Germany. Or?
