Nach Praktikum/Job Visa
Hello all,
I amy studying Masters in computer science in Germany.Currently,I am working as a student in a small company.
My course is going to complete by March 2005.
The company is willing to give me a job after my course if and only if i am ready to work for less salary (1000-1500 Euros per month).
The ammount is quite ok for me as I am fresher and i know that i can learn alot if i work in this company.
I want to know if Arbietsamt will agree to such a job with low salary.
Can i work in the name of nach praktikum or contract job?
Please suggest me the possibilities of working under these conditions.

1500 netto is not so small salary.
it will be alowed because after 1.1. there is no condition on salary any more.

you do not need nach praktikum any more. with ZuwG you get 1 year visa to get a job. Only condition is not salary but job apropriate to studium.
since you found job allready you will get probably two years visa quick.

Thanks alot for your reply.1500 Euros is not netto but Brutto.
As you told salary doesnt matter.I hope it is ok.
Yes I am working in the same field exactly as my studies.
Can you please show me the link where this point is mentioned so that i can show it to the employer as well as Arbeitsamt to convince them.

§ 16 Studium; Sprachkurse; Schulbesuch
(4) Nach erfolgreichem Abschluss des Studiums kann die Aufenthaltserlaubnis bis zu einem Jahr zur Suche eines diesem Abschluss angemessenen Arbeitsplatzes, sofern er nach den Bestimmungen der §§ 18 bis 21 von Ausländern besetzt werden darf, verlängert werden.

I think according to §18 and §39 of AufentG, the company needs to prove that the foreign employee is paid not less than the amount a German gets being in the same position.
If you join there as a normal employee with a university degree, 1500 Euro per month is not enough. In this case Arbeitsamt may not issue you a Arbeitserlaubnis.
My opinion is that you apply according to §17. This is for Weiterbildung (i.e. further development). And your employer can give you a vertrag as a Nachpraktikum or something like this. In this case 1500 euro per month should be enough to get AE from AA.

as mk says you should get something similar to germans, and 1500 brutto is questionable.

as a Mr in CS and if you speak good german and english you can get much better salary till March.

Hi,
Thank you for your information.
If i have to apply through §17,
What type of contract should i get from my Chef?
How long can i work on this type of Visa?
Can i switch back to normal job visa after two years?
Please provide any link so that i can show to arbeitsamt people.The main problem is the arbeitsamt here has never encountered a foriegner.So they dont know anything and will not agree unless and otherwise we show some proof.
