hi,
to appear for B1 test, do i need to register only to Goethe or VHS in my city of residence or if I can appear through any institute around Germany as per convinience to avoid time delay etc.
Where can i get list of B1 test centers and their schedule round the year ?

You can register at any institute, which conduct these certificates. As these exams are conduct by telc,(The European Language Certificates), so these can be done at any institute which offer these exams.
