Germany -Spouse Visa along with work permit
Hello,
I am planning to relocate to Germany as my new German employer is sponsoring work permit and residence visa. I am an Indian citizen and currently live in Dubai with UAE residence Visa. I am staying with my wife and we both have UAE residence Visa.
I would like to know few information's. Please revert.
1) Can I apply German residence Visa for my spouse along with my Visa application ? ( We have our marriage certificate and we both have UAE residence visas)
2) My spouse does not know German language and planning to enroll at the Goethe Institute as soon as possible. Since we don't have much time to apply for the German Visa, Can we show this enrolling information and apply Visa for my Spouse ? Also My spouse has post graduate Degree.
3) If my spouse got dependent residence Visa, Is to possible to apply for Jobs in Germany ? Does company provide work permit to work in Germany for my spouse?
Thanks in advance
Regards,
Manu

Re: Germany -Spouse Visa along with work permit
Hi Manu,
Congrats on getting a job offer in Germany.
Just to let you know, in Germany there are two categories of employment visas:
a. Highly skilled employment visa which comes under schedule 19.
b. Skilled temporary employment visa which comes under schedule 18.
Now, to answer your queries:
1. Yes, you and your wife can very well apply from UAE. Please refer to below links to know more on visa requirements if you are applying from UAE.
http://www.vfsglobal-de-ae.com/
http://www.dubai.d...Visabestimmungen.html
2. If you are being hired under schedule 19 and you intend to stay only for few years German language requirement for your spouse can be waived off. Also, as you said since your wife is having a PG degree, it shouldn't be mandatory to have A1 certificate. But please get this confirmed from VFS office in UAE.
3. By default, your wife can only stay and not work in Germany. However, if she can get a job offer letter, she can apply with local Ausslanderbehorde to obtain work permit. Only thing she requires is a job offer letter from the employer.
All the best!

Re: Germany -Spouse Visa along with work permit
I would like to add some ponits to the above post.
Normally in india for spouse visa the consulate requires to verify the marriage certificate then it will take time as the certificate has to be checked by an agency(8-10 weeks for verifing the certificate).
plz check with the consulate in dubai.
I suggest that both of you get your visa stamped and then come to germany.
Note: plz also look into the tax in germany as i know in dubai there is no tax to be payed.

Re: Germany -Spouse Visa along with work permit
Hi Manu,
I am in a similar situation as you, I will be applying for my work permit and wife's residence permit from UAE. My wife holds a Masters Degree from a central govt. university in India.
Did the consulate/embassy accept your wife's residence permit application with your work permit application, and did she get her visa without A1 language requirement?
Would appreciate an update. Thanks.
Regards.
