Well, somebody is *really* getting the immigration trends in Germany wrong. It is either this paper magazine, we (members of immigration society) or German administration (officials and fameous Beamters).

Conservative Newspaper FAZ also confesses that Germany Society starts to shrink already in number of People.

Die Bevölkerung ist in Deutschland 2004 etwas zurückgegangen. Wie schon seit 1991 üblich wurden weniger Kinder geboren als Menschen starben, die Zuwanderung konnte dieses Geburtendefizit wie 2003 aber nicht mehr ausgleichen, wie das Statistische Bundesamt am Mittwoch mitteilte. Insgesamt sank die Zahl der Einwohner um 31.000 auf 82,501 Millionen.

The government of Germany (and every other country) is not Management of some company, so that it always makes best decisions according to the estimation of some external consultant.
Many countries made very irrational decisions during history which costed them a lot.
