Job security & Aufenthalterlaubnis
Dear friends,
Firstly I want to thank this forum.. Excellent one.. I have been reading posts from expert members since few months & indeed very helpful to all of us
I have below question. Please share your opinion.
I have been living in this wonderful country since 2 years with Aufenthalterlaubnis which is being renewed every year.
Recently I got a new permanent job here in Frankfurt, But even then authorities gave me an aufenthalt valid for 1 year only. Whereas my freind in Munich who has a permanent job there got Aufenthalt which is valid for 3years till 2010.
Please share your thoughts on what basis Aufenthalt vailidity period would be decided when one has a permanent job. Is aufenthalterlaubnis period subjective based on the city of living ?

This decision is at the discretion of the authorities.

Don`t worry, after 3 years you don`t need Arbeitserlaubis anyway. Search the forum for more info on BE.
