Tax Return
I married in November-3003. My firm given my loanstuerkarte in the next year 2004.Is it possible that i can return my taxes which i paid as classe-1 one person told me that if anybody marry at the end of year whole the year's paid tax return.

The person whoc told you this is absolutely correct. One gets all the taxes back for the year in which he got married and afterwards if he had paid taxes in class I category.
This is indeed a lot of money too !

Yes but the problem is ..... I could not change the stuer klasse 1 to 3 in the previous year but i married previous year end of 2003.Now can i claim of my tax return of 2003 in this year.

Hi,
I think the tax returns will be applicable only if your wife came to germany in 2003. You said you were married in nov 2003. Did u wife come to germany before 31'st Dec 2003? If yes then you can claim for year 2003 otherwise no(thats what my married friends said)

Steuer Klasse changes only from the period, or from the next month, your spouse in deutschland. But in the following year tax returns, you can claim something, for maintaining two houses or visiting your spouse etc., during the absence of your spouse.

You people did not understand my situation.....
I am from Asia
My wife is from Germany.
We married in Nov-2003.
I could not change my stuer-klasse from 1st to 3rd untill now from the stuer karte 2003.
Can i get my tax return back of year 2003 as married person for whole the year ?Or it was necessary that i change that 2003 karte in the year 2003.
What should i do now ?

i was married in dec 2002,my wife joined me in agust 2003. Filled tax in oktober for 2002 as married person & recieved extra money that I have piad as klass 1. For 2003 half paid as klass 1, hopefully will get back.

As far as I know, even if you were married for a single day, you can file your return as if you had been married the whole year (that's what says in my Steuerratgeber, Der Kleine Konz)
You can download the free software from the tax Office to do and calculate your tax return:

But first call the Finanzamt to clear how to do your class change.
