Tax class + stipendium?

Dear All,
I am doing research studies in hamburg for the past 2 years with stipendium. So that I didnt need any tax card sofar. Recently I got married and my wife recently registered here got an job offer. The company people requires her tax card. Now I have this doubt: what tax class she will be? I have an income but i dont have to pax tax because of stipendium. We will be applying for the tax card in this week. So if you guys give some suggesstions, that would be really helpfull.
