Is it usually a Internship (Praktikum) paid?

Hello,
just a question.

I have readed an advertisement for an Internship (Praktikum), and before contacting this people wanted to know:

Are the internships usually paid in Germany, or you work just to get some hands-on experience?

Do they usually pay something, at least transport expenses?

Thnaks.

Hello Fabio,

All the internships I have seen were paid here. I would assume that this is by law.

Hallo Fabio,
Yes, they usually pay you for a traineeship.. I personally got paid during traineeship period in Germany..(average IT trainee salary might be around 500-600 Euros pro month)
If it is some kind of traineeship related to "Diplom Arbeit" (Graduation Thesis) then you have a little bit less chances to get paid.. (but still possible)
One more thing, it might be complicated to get a visa for the traineeship.. if you are a Non-EU Citizen..
just to remind you the realities.. (I am a non-EU citizen and it was not easy for me to get the visa)
