Info about Kindergeld if some one leaves the country
One of my friend left Germany couple of months back . He had not done the Abmeldung and still continues to recieve the Kindergeld monthly.
He wants to cancel the same . Could anyone tell the procedure.. If he does his abmeldung , does it automatically cancels the Kinder geld too... If not .. does he need to send a letter to Arbeitsamt etc.

the abmeldung normally does automatically cancel the kindergeld, but that can be delayed by one year...the official ways, you know...
On the other hand you - your friend - are obliged to report each change of your status to the authorities, also to the Familienkasse in the Arbeitsamt. So if you quit your job and leave your country it is important to report that to all authorities...einwohnermeldeamt (abmeldung)...arbeitsamt...but even to the familienkasse...

...your friend has to call the familienkasse in "his" arbeitsamt to let them know about his move...
