Testing tools

Hi,
i need one help from Experts (all of you).
one of my friend want to learn testing tools in India before he comes here.
i think many of you in this forum are in testing area (at least u have an idea). so pls respond which testing tools are mostly used in Germany (Manual and Automatic)?

What kinda testing? Applications? Security? Unit of Work? Web Services? Load testing? Application profiling?...
