Salary scale difference between North and South Germany

Dear Experts,

I need your opinion on the salary scale difference
between Northen and Southern regions of Germany due to cost of living.

For example, if someone is getting 50K at Hamburg, then what he should get as the equalent salary in Münich, considering the high cost of living.

Thank you

Re: Salary scale difference between North and South Germany

Hello Kumaran,

i am living in Hamburg and I used to live in Munich before. I can say that the life is a little more expensive in Munich.

Flats to rent in Munich are more expensive. It is also more difficult to find a good flat in Munich. The public transportation in Munich is more expensive. Apart from that, living costs are almost equal.

50K is good money though, with that money you can live in both cities, but it will be a little more expensive in Munich. There is no *huge* diff.
