NE Application
Is there any rule stating, when to apply for NE. Is it only possible on the day one completes 5 years. Our Auslanderamt says so? But I read from this site, it is possible before 3 months.
Please provide some links or necessary documents

I applied for my NE 4 weeks before my 5 years. It took full 8 weeks to be processed. After 4 weeks of applying I was informed to go for german language test. There is an another department called Integration where they conduct german language test. The test was only oral and lasted 20 minutes. So my advice would be to brush up your german skills before going for test.

well it differs from place to place and people to people .. i got my NE in a month after application and there was no Language test or any thing of that sort.

You are right, a GC friend of mine applied to same ABH and got it in 1 month without any german test

according to law you really need FULL 5 YEARS from ENTRANCE in D.
not from start of visa but from a first flight day
they can issua NE litle bit earlier but if law is strictly folowed than it is last day or later.

Fiktionsbescheinigung will cost you 30€ and 2 years extension 40€

Do they keep your passport with them during this time? I would like to apply for a NE, but I have to do a lot of travelling for my work.
