BE procedure

Hello all,

I am planning to apply for BE in Dec 07.

I have below doubts, hope to hear from experienced members:
Please let me know the formalities to be done in Auslandbehorde.
For how many years should I specify validity period for my BE ? Is there any limit in terms of years ?

I have read in this forum that BE can be obtained after continuous stay for 2years. Please let me know how the basis for calculatiing these two years:
Is it Arrival date in the Passport or is it the Anmeldung date in Rathaus or is it the Aufenthaltstitel datum in the passport.
