Can anyone tell me, what to do to get unemployment benefit. Any reference websites or articles will be very helpful.

Just common sense!
If such things were a matter of common sense then we didnt need Trust7. The problem most people face is the communication with Behörden thats why members here prefer to ask the Forum for any experiences with a particular matter. It doesnt mean that one lacks common sense.
I don't understand, why do you need so much understanding about registration.

What the heck you are talking about??? I did not generalise things here. I am talking about a person who lived and worked for 5 years in Germany knows nothing about ABgeld registration.

hi,
I will lose my job on 1st march. Can someone please tell me the stepsI need to follow?
1. Which office should I go to to claim for Unemployment benefit.
I guess there is :
Arbeitslose geld, then Arbeitslose Hilfe, and then Social Hilfe. Right??
so, I should ask for first support? How long such support last before I have to go to next level..
a prompt reply will be great..

"so, I should ask for first support? How long such support last before I have to go to next level.", you have to go to your Arbeitsamt and register yourself as future unemployed. If you know the date (March 1st) that means you have received a letter from your employer (Kündigung), then go with all that to the Arbeitsamt you belong to.
You will get forms to fill and some that will have to be filled from your employer, as to know why you are getting fire, if you are getting Abfindung or not, all these kinda questions.
After that, according to your salary, you will receive a letter telling you how much you gonna get and all that.
Do the first step, the rest will follow.
One thing that I did after requesting unemployment benefits was to make a request for Wohngeld at my local Wohnamt, that always help. But if you know you gonna get fired, better search for another job right now.

But I am confused. Where should I go? To Arbeitsamt or to Arbeitsagentur?? or to somewhere else in hell?
I have to go tomorrow morning. It in dusseldorf. Can someone please tell me where??

Arbeitsagentur is the new name of Arbeitsamt. They are the same. The correct name is Bundesagentur fuer Arbeit.

The location of AA in Düsseldrof is Near Werhan S bahn satation and there is a bus haltstelle called Arbeits amt.
