We are in urgent need of a Automotive Systems Engineer with any of the following backgrounds:
- Test Engineering
- verification
- Validation
- system or
- software testing experience.
General background
Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Engineering (BSCE) preferred but will consider others provided they have significant experience with System Engineering in an electrical / electronic setting (not mechanical)
Critical skills:
- Fluent in German (RWS) Launch experience
- Bilingual skills (Eng/German)
- Must handle stress & working long hours on occasion
- Capable of traveling in Europe
- RDS, DAB and Telematics feature experience
- Automotive (must) and Multimedia (plus) required
- Must have experience isolating issues to specific areas in a system
‘Good-to-have’ skills:
- Previous GM (General Motors) experience or GM exp at a Tier 1 vendor such as Siemens VDO, Visteon, Contiental, TRW, etc.
- Good system analytical skills (Can troubleshoot vehicle and multimedia issues)
- Previous design experience a plus

Background:
Our customer, based in Atlanta Georgia have immediate need in their automotive arm. They are an innovative technology leader in OEM Car Audio / Video Electronics market.
The need is for a Resident Engineer to perform DRE (Design Release Engineering) tasks and be responsible for providing the point contact at the customer location where he/she is assigned and will effectively be the escalation focus for problems and issues from the customer to the Company.
Responsibilities
· Work with T AC, SE's, CE's, and Sales to act as the customer's advocate when issues and problems need to be escalated.
· Meets frequently and chairs meetings between the company and the customer's engineers..
· Specifically, attend, and sometimes chair, the customer's on site meetings when customer's operation group reviews performance and issues with the customer's network
· Manage the customer's specific release processes throughout the entire development cycle of each specific product.
· Coordinate and project manage upgrades and network migrations that involve Customer products at the customer's sites.
· Work with the customer to migrate the customer's network to the Customer product.
· Act as the Tier I level support engineer for Customer.
· Provide on-site engineering support for the assigned customer, collaborating in all program phases from initial concept to program end.
· Assists in the definition of system and other requirements by seeking clarification and approval from customer and liaising with a Customer System Engineer; maintains compliance with the customer's specifications; provides support for determination of local regulatory requirements.
· Promote efforts to acquire additional business from the customer.
· Fulfill co-located engineering responsibilities as designated in customer guidelines and ensure that the company complies with all customer requirements and expectations for co-location.
· Communicates customer program timing requirements and completion of program milestones to management. Ensures that all program steps comply with established customer program processes.
· Works with the customer to provide equipment and timing needed by Customer, for example, provision of a car of a suitable standard for a suitable duration for audio tuning.
· Ensure the proper flow of engineering and customer information within and between the customer and Customer.
· Maintain appropriate documentation to meet the specifications of the customer and Customer.
· Provide an interface to the plant during the start of production and lead troubleshooting efforts at the plant.
· Identify and troubleshoot other quality and manufacturing issues.
· Must be proficient with engineering drawings, GD&T, plastics, stampings, APQP methods, and Microsoft Office.
· Clear, concise and timely communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to remain organized and self directed in a fast-paced environment.
· Must be a capable team player and able to adapt to various project requirements.
Requirements
- Four-year college degree (BSEE, BSEET, BSCS, or BSME or related field). (Three year college degree in Europe / Australia is acceptable)
- Fully conversant (including read/write) with German (preferably at the native level)
- Minimum of three years experience with automotive electronics required (any amplifier or speaker experience will be a huge plus)
- Specific experience in an electronics-manufacturing environment preferred.
- Must have the basic discipline specific to documentation and design approaches.
- Must have the ability to direct and coordinate manufacture or building of prototype products and systems.
- Must be able to determine component requirements appropriate to product.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows based databases.

1. POSITION 1 (AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEM ENGINEER FOR CAR AUDIO or INFOTAINMENT SYSTEMS)

Need an automotive systems engineer to perform the following tasks:
Functional Verification and Validation of various Radio Units with Diagnostics Testing Tools such as Saint Bus Engine, Lambda Saint, BT Saint, eSaint, Class 2, CAT Tools and CANalyzer for CAN bus systems (11 bit and 29 bit) for observation and analysis of data traffic on the bus lines over GMLAN
Assisting critical radio issues with the Systems and Software Engineers along with Execution of Product Test Activities.
Addressed the customer/System Engineer concerns regarding Product Testing, System Change Requests (SCRs), and Test Plans through in-depth product knowledge and thorough understanding of the various Customer Requirements.
Proficient in Vehicular testing for capturing GMLAN traffic data using Saint monitor and reproducing the abnormalities using Functional Waveform tools such as Crank Simulators.
Proficient in testing Radio Data/Database System (RDS/RDBS) requirements, working with Rohde and Schwartz SML-B5 Signal Generator equipped with Signal Encoder for supporting Radios to provide support for Traffic Announcement (TA) and Alternating Frequency (AF) concepts through in-depth product understanding developed by RDS specifications.

2. POSITION 2 (AUTOMOTIVE SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEERS [Embedded])
The key is for all positions if prior Software Testing experience within an embedded environment. Automotive will be a huge plus but not mandatory.
PRIMARY ROLE: Automotive Test Engineer
SECONDARY: Embedded Software Testing
Primary responsibilities include testing/evaluating functionality of upcoming automotive audio/video/infotainment/ GPS devices and monitoring software responses. The equipment will go in one of the OEM’s and need to find out as many functional problems as possible in order to come up with a trouble free product.

Tasks:-
• To execute tests, develop test plans and analyze test results.
· Bachelors degree in Engineering - Electrical or Computer
· Previous software development or test experience
· Ability to analyze and isolate problems
· Read requirements specifications and raise test issues in the product
· Summarize test report and work with systems engineer closely & analyze/summarize test results.
General background:
· Prior experience working on either automotive OEM, Tier 1 suppliers or multi-media / Infotainment devices will be highly desirable (Plus)
· Test plan preparation / creation
· GMLAN / Class2 / CAN or similar vehicular network experience (plus)
PLUS Skills:
· Whitebox Testing (preferably with experience with C/C++)
· Some knowledge of LabVIEW, Visual Basic or Excel VBA
· GM/Delphi or other Tier1 and/or OEM
· Synergy CM or Telelogic Doors (or similar tools) for defect tracking and managing defects
Location: Lüneburg or Rüsselsheim
Duration: Long term (1+ year) or we can also hire as FTE
Rate: up to $35/Hr or $60K per year (will pay higher for those from similar Automotive Tier 1 or OEM backgrounds having performed exact tasks specially with Infotainment)
