LOL.
))) This is kind of never-ending story. The discussions have been postponed AGAIN!!! to Feb. 27. This is a really nice way to deal with a problem... just postpone it maybe somebody with balls would come later on and say YES/NO to your problem. This handling made me laugh indeed. I'm glad I have chosen not to wait for them anymore.
Good luck guys... it's definitely needed.

Me too!
Yes Florinux
You're right. Another time postpone to february!!
Maybe I'm getting old. I'm tired of indefinitions.
Yes or No but soon. We can't wait forever.
I would like to know any more details, but the informations on TV are only in Teletext, just a brief, not yet in the news.
But I was surprised of the news of a lot of newspapers and even the TV with the surprise of the germans because the immigration rates are going down.
Maybe some immigrants are more clever than us and are choosing another destinations.
Regards and have a good weekend.

Re: Immigration law / 16 January 2004
Feb. 30 would be more appropriate for them. Then they could play politics till the calendar page shows Feb 30 and then aprove the law
Forget about it. They are just nice guys that do their best...

Re: Immigration law / 16 January 2004
Hi,
I have read so much of immigration, staying, going, this and that...I am Green Card since 10.2000 and I have been trought so much problems that the germans soud make me a monument in the midle of Berlin.
Who ever it may be interested:
Under the AuslG§24 it is clearly explained 5 steps how, why and when you can have an "umberfristeted aufenthalt" in Germany.
So in "auslenderamt", they will never tell you that and they are non-stop telling you since the day you have got in Germany, that you must - GO! ( That is hapening with me)
However, in this law is clearly explained that you can stay more, als long as you want afther the period of 5 year of GC and wether the germans and all world like or not he GC are having same right as all others auslanders from rest of the world.
Also I like to mention that since today I had 4 companies as IT GC and in all 3 previous, I got "kundigung" - kicking off from company from my employer!
Anuway, it is not going just like that...come and sty 5 years and then GO AWAY - WE DO NOT NEED YOU!
I have 36 and after 2 years (my GC is finishing then) when I return in my "fucking" contry Macedonia, they will tell me to make suicide than to come back from Germany. It is impossible just to left all life and go back.
And then...Germans know very well thet all who are comming from NON EU Countries ( and beside Macedonia,Serbia and Albania) all are in EU,and all from rest of the world - that we are not coming from HAVEN and that your lives are not playing exeminations of 5 years and I do not know what else.
I have 2 kids, my son is born hier, and I will fight as much as I can to stay longer.
5 years I am just paying the billings, flats rent, tax, security, moving from one to another town, bills, tax again, bills, this and that...and I have not make any single mustale or problem...so what am I -- WHAT ARE WE ?! If we Green Cards Holders have come to Germany under the law and pharagraps and all law and regulation are obligatory for us, then all other law and pharagraps are with same validity as for all other in Germany...
So abouth the stayuing afther 5 years...YES any can stay according this AuslG§24 pharagraph - unbefristete aufenthalt !
More informations abouth law and regulation..
www.bmi.bund.de - you can find there all laws!
Any friends who want to get in contact with me..I will be happy!
I live in Bad Sachsa - Green Card from Macedonia!

Re: Immigration law / 16 January 2004
Stefan,
It is very clear here.
Remember the 1960s, 1970s when Germany imported young to midage workforce from countries like Turkey. And currently the number of Turkish population in germany is 6 millions of people.
Greencard regulation is very well shaped and designed:
1- have the foreigners work in germany for 5 years.
2- have them pay taxes like german citizens for the highways, schools etc.that the 5 year limited foreigners who can not get any use of this schoools, highways etc. after their 5 years residency.
3- get them the most/give them the least in this 5 year period.
4- fire'n'hire policy overall, regular GC will show his/her best performance not to be fired, will come to work at 7 leave at 22(thats guarenteed)
what should i say more ?
very good deal.
Congratulations.

Re: Immigration law / 16 January 2004 - Tired
Hello Everyone,
I am really tried to see that everytime the law is being postponed. I had high hopes before but now i think i am tired and desperate. I also somehow feel that most of them are tired and dont even want to discuss on these issues. We somehow feel that soon it is end of the tunnel but no light...
I like this country, culture etc.. My child was born here, i am waiting for an another soon. They will go to german kindergarden. I am still driving with my old car fearing that after 3 years, i will not able to sell a new car. I think 1000 times before i buy even a big TV beacause it is difficult to throw away things.
I was in the US for a month but i never felt good. Life was hectic, Cars are next to god, no peace of mind, you dont feel secure but still all foreigners are happy beacuse they have a bright future. They all know that if you intelligent and honest, you can survive without a scare. In germany, everything is perfect, no junk food, good trains, beautiful landscapes, and you can list 1000 good things about this small country. In the end, what is the use, when we are not certain about our future.
For politicians, we are just a burden. The only sin we did was that we are not EU. But is EU everything? are we not people who pay tax, develop technology, publish scietific papers, promote peace, exchange cultures????
Where will this end? It is no use to make a hunger strike but we can demonstrate by peace. We all should hold our hands and walk in berlin to proove that all holding hands have not comitted crime but developed new technologies for this wonderful contry. Atleast then, they will look for a solution.
Have a nice evening
Regards,
Rajesh

Re: Immigration law / 16 January 2004
These are really good news.
I really want myself that the Zuwanderung-Gesetz will be denied at 27th February and everyone (like myself) working as GC having their kids born in germany, took their family to here etc. start to learn how the things are really looking like in reality.
I do not believe that other people who are having joy for coming to germany as a GCer will continue to have their willingness after reading these forums for 2 hours.
Honestly speaking I am also currently looking for solutions how to get rid of all these uncertainities and similar things. I am not so sure how people will behave if the law is denied at 27th February.
You guys, do you want to stay in Germany and look for opportunities or will you look for other countries like Canada,UK etc. I really like to know what other members in this forum will behave after things get exact (hopefully) at 27th February.
Regards and thanks for your understanding,
Pwehrli.
