What is next process?

I am German spouse but not yet in Germany and submitted my residence visa application last few days in the embassy here in our country. I wonder what is the next process and what will I do ? Anyone here knows the process after I submitted the application, how long will I wait? What will I expect?

After one month call the embassy where you submitted your application and ask for the progress. Thats what I did and I am from India.
