Translation and Notarization of Documents in India for Spouse Visa Application?
Hello Friends,
I hope everyone is doing good and enjoying the Euro 2008 soccer matches.
Sorry to bother you all at this hour but just a quick question. My fiancee has her birth certificate in Hindi (the national languuage of India). I have however been informed by the German Consulate in Mumbai that when she applies for her Visa after our marriage, she not only needs to submit her original birth certificate but also an English and German translated copy of the same with notarization.
My question is as to from where can she get her birth certificate translated and notarized (either in Pune or Mumbai). Since my fiancee cleared her German exam last month from the Goethe Institute, would the Goethe Institute then be a option to get the translation done. Or can i also get it done from the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce in Mumbai?
I would highly appreciate your prompt and helpful advice in this regard.
Wishing you all a nice day and a nice week ahead.
Regards,
Monty

@ Sandeep,
as far as getting the marriage certificate is concerned, you just need to go to the registrar's office in ur city and then get ur marriage certificate there. Doesn't need more than 2 hrs or so.
U need to have witnesses there (like ur parents, parents of ur spouse) who would then need to sign the marriage certificate form.
Also, u need to take photographs (2 each if I am not wrong, but kindly check the number) that then need to be pasted on the form.
Hope the info helps.
