Niederlassungserlaubnis - Daueraufenthalt EG. Anyone got this yet?
Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone has got the NE with the addendum "Daueraufenthalt EG". I am going there in 2 months and planning on asking for it. I was wondering if there is a precedence already.

Hi,
I asked for the DA -EG stampel for my passport and the lady at ausländerbehorde said that ... in Herbst(Autumn) there will be a new law and only then can she do it ... Is this true ?

if you are in bayern than you have to wait cos Bayern issued Erlass to put EG on ice until law is accepted.
if you are in NRW you can get it now but you have to be persuasive. it would be usefull to find Erlass on net

Hi,
I'm in Bayern, in München. Today in the morning I went at AB (KVR), to apply for NE. Asked for D.EG, got positive answer. The guy said: "OK, it's the same, you'll get it, but you need to wait until 4th of August". Entered something into the computer, gave me a bunch of documents to fill in and said "Goodbye, we'll see us after 4th of August".
The documents i need to prepare are the same as for NE. Probably the tax will be slightly different - more expensive for D.EG, because it brings some more benefits (something like 85 EUR?).

Yesterday, I visited Hamburg - Nord Ausländerbehorde for Daueraufenthalt EG. I had taken an appointment some few weeks back. On entering the office, I was asked what exactly do I need 
I explained abt Daueraufenthalt EG. The beamterin was shocked to hear that I am not even married to an european and still want to have a permit of EU. She threw all documents on the paper telling me that I do not stand any chance to get this visa as I am not from EU and have not married an EU citizen. I had to visit her Chief and finally after explaining to her Chief, I recd this visa.
But when leaving the office the beamterin again said a strange thing. She said "if I stay outside Germany for more than 6 months than my Niederlassungserlaubnis will expire but Daueraufenthalt will remain valid for maximum of 6 yrs". Is this true ? any idea.
Addition to my situeation. I want to pursue one year MBA in the UK and am leaving Germany in couple of weeks. It would be nice to maintain my status in Germany as it opens more options for me after my MBA. Any idea or suggestions of how I would be able to manage this?

Congrads on getting N-EG.
The answer to your problem lies in the wording of N-EG. Doest it say ur visa is valid until u stay in EU-Countries or Schengen States? Isnt UK in EU?
Last but not least why dont u get permission from the AB before you leave? that would solve the problem.

After reading this thread and the links in this thread, I got an impression that I will be able to study one year in the UK without changing my status. I will get this confirmed next week with Ausländerbehörde.
I went to finanzamt to ask them how do I file my tax returns next year (I will not be working for 3 months so will fall in different tax slab and expect a good return). He recommended that I should keep my registeration in Germany otherwise it will not be possible for them to process my tax returns and I will fall in other category of some beschränkte tax return which has less benifits. (I have to find more information regarding this)
