Niederlassungserlaubnis - Daueraufenthalt EG. Anyone got this yet?
Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone has got the NE with the addendum "Daueraufenthalt EG". I am going there in 2 months and planning on asking for it. I was wondering if there is a precedence already.

This would allow you to work in other EU countries as well (with some exceptions). Effectively, you are the EU permanant resident.

Thanks for you reply. As you mentioned in ur reply that there are some exceptions.What are those exceptions?.let say If I got an offer in UK will I be able to work and live there with this kind of visa on my pass.

I think UK will be one of them. UK, Denmark, Ireland maybe... I am not completely sure on this. Maybe someone with more information on this can answer this accurately.

On the contrary UK, Ireland and Denmark opted out of this agreement. So I dont think they will be rolling out the red carpet for anyone with a "Daueraufenthalt EG" seeking to raid their labor market.

Hey guys,
I promised to update y'all concerning "Daueraufenthalt EG". I can now confirm that I got it today 20.03.2006. I did not wait for that letter they promised to write me when the "Daueraufenthalt EG" is ready. Earlier on they had told me that they didnt have it ready yet. After waiting for a week without seeing the promised letter, I wasnt taking none of that bullshit. I walked into the Ausländeramt today, with an ice-cold look on my face and then suddenly disarmed the behörde with a one-million carat smile when he started asking me if I had received any letter from them. The dude did not wait for my answer. He furiously punched a few buttons on his desk phone a couple of times, made some inquiries, and before I knew it the "Daueraufenthalt EG" was stamped into my passport. Man you gotta love Ausländeramtbehörde, sometimes. Also wer ist dran?

Congrats for getting it.I need to know from you whether they asked you to bring some document like proof for rente and that U had paid taxes for 60 month etc??

No they did not. If you are a GC holder and qualify for NE then you definitely do qualify for
"Daueraufenthalt EG". All you need are the biometric passport fotos. They will be required.

Cool. Congrats man! Biometric passport photos???! Sounds funky. Are they any different from normal photos? Did you get them taken by a professional photographer?
