Daueraufenthalt EG for PhD student?

Hi, all,

I came to Germany since 10.2000. I got the MSc in 2004 and further registered as a PhD student in Duesseldorf. I got a Bat2a/2 contract from the university since 12.2004. I will graduate end of this year and it is very likely I will get a postdoc position in the same lab.

As I read from the official website, I might have the chance to get the Daueraufenthalt EG. But I am not sure if this is certain restriction to the PhD student. And, I did not find any official formula on the website. Is there any? Beside these, there is no description about how and where to apply that. Indeed, there is no telephone or email address for question.

I found this forum by chance and you guys are really warmhearted. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome. Surely, as a tiny reward, I will post all my applying experience in this forum.
