German banks
Hi everyone,
Can anyone recommend a German bank in Berlin that would allow me to maintain an account in British Pounds? So, I want to transfer money from England in pounds and do not want to loose anything due to exchange rates. Unfortunately, I am in London and cannot just go to a bank in Berlin to find this out.
Any recommendation regarding this would be quite useful.
Thanks.

Re: German banks
Do you know any banks in London or UK that lets you transact in Euro. No Right.
As per my knowledge very few countries (Poor ones) allow transaction in Foreign currency. In germany you can have a $ or Pound bank accounts but not transact with them. All you can do is remit them to a foreign country.

@savion: This is clearly not true. Actually I found out that almost every banks allow this and many do not even charge a fee. Look up "Fremdwaehrungskonto"

Hi Xenon,
i think most banks will let you have multicurrency accounts, but it might actually be cheaper to use a specialist currency broker (there are heaps in London) to transfer the money as the exchange rate will probably be better than to move the money between your own accounts. This unless you have a premium account. Send me an email and i'll send you the details...
