company startup - what are the initial costs involved and potential pitfalls

Dear all,
Anybody out there who has the experience of starting his own company?? Would be of great help if you could share your experiences...
Of course Trust7 has a good intro in Freelance section.. something more would definitely of help..

There are different types of company e.g GmbH, Gbr, mini GmbH. So which one are you talking about?

But in today economic situation you have to be careful.If you have good product I think it is diferent. There is also thread here you can follow. But it is disscusion mini gmbh or ltd only.

Had another question. Has anybody probed the possibility of registering a company in India and opening a 'Filiale' here... as an option to circumvent the costs involved in registering here..
