New green card eases entry to Denmark for job seekers

Foreigners’ admittance to the Danish labour market will need to pass through a point system in the future. The government and the Danish People’s Party have agreed on how the new green card system is to be organised. Foreigners who want to work in Denmark will be rewarded points according to their education level, language skills and business experience.
Moreover, points will be awarded according to age and current income. The younger the foreigner is and the more money the foreigner has made, the more points he or she will be awarded – and the better chances the person will have to be admitted into the country.
Only a limited number of highly qualified foreigners are admitted these days. Through the so-called job card system approximately 1000 foreigners were allowed to live and work in Denmark last year. Among them were engineers, doctors and IT specialists. On the other hand twice as many highly educated Danes leave Denmark each year.

And how long will they be allowed to live there? 5 years like the German GC? 3 like the French GC? unlimited like the US one?
Looks like they all getting in the same wagon.

All I know is that Germany is probably going to be the last country on earth to implement a point system. Again, it has been discarded in the current negotiations for the modifications to the Aufenthaltsgesetz.
Germany tends to looks to the scandinavian countries for policies, so it's a good sign. But I think we will have to wait and see if the European Commission ever manages to push forward the european GC, because on their own, it seems they will never bake it.
