I have been working for a company from last 16 months.
If i leave the company am i elgible for unemployment benefits?

You are eligible for unemployement benefits but not from day 1. You maynot be eligible for a few months if you resign voluntarily. If you still have good relationship with the company ask them if they can fire you with the required notice period.

Thanks for your answer.
I do know about that if i am elgible, i will get only after 3 months.
Somebody told me that , i am not elgible for unemployment since i just worked for 16 months.
Minimum period required is 24 months(2 years).

To avail unemployement benefits one must have worked for minimum 12 months(1 year).
