Oath before german einburgerungurkunde

Can somebody tell me about the oath that one has to take after the cancellation of original passport and before getting the einburgerungsurkunde for german passport. What is the procedure and do somebody need prior preparation for that?

Re: Oath before german einburgerungurkunde

Here you have to remember the oath, recite one nursery rhyme of your choice in German and also the national anthem of Germany.

In oath you read from the paper that you will be loyal to Germany and respect constitution of Germany. So its easy.

I would recommend the following to you for nursery rhyme:
Himpelchen und Pimpelchen - this one is easy to remember by heart

National anthem:

And yes you need to sing in tune. It can be embarrasing if are the only one getting citizenship that day and have to sing alone. So better check in Youtube.

Hope it helps

@naveea, don't believe everything supersid said LOL the only serious part is "In oath you read from the paper that you will be loyal to Germany and respect constitution of Germany", it depends where but sometimes, you don't even have to read it out loud, all I had to do when I got the paper was take note of what was written and sign it, that was it.
