Getting married to German

Hello All ,

I have been following trust7 for many months and been posting some inquiries, you guys been so helpful all the time. Here I am with another inquiry, hope to get some help from you.

I am an Indian boy living in Germany since 'OCt 2007. I am engaged to a German and we are planning to get married soon. We been to Standesamt couple of months ago, and the officer told me to translate my birth certificate in German and get a single status certificate either from my home country or embassy here.

My question is has anyone been through this matter? You comments and suggestions are really appreciated. What happens after we get married, in the sense about my visa and the rest of bureaucracy?
