Re: Visa extension.
I am Marycarmen again. I forgot to say that I am in Holland like an Au Pair but my contract will be up by October this year and my visa, too. I would like to know what should my boyfriend and me do in order to get a visa extension and stay in Germany with him. Thank you so much.

Re: Visa extension.
Hola Marycarmen
I would like you to know as an Au Pair you have only two ways of renewing your visa from Europe:
1- You can start studying. I don´t know how but you are allowed to stay here for studying purposes, you have to find a university, make some tests and change your visa
2- You can marry your boyfriend.
The other possibilities are your boyfriend can invite you to come, but for this option you have to return to Peru and process there your papers
Mucha suerte

return to Peru??
Thank you so much Yo for your help. So, if I have to go back to Peru, do you know how much time it will last until I go to Germany to live with my boyfriend. How many months does it take to get the visa?
Thank you:

Re: Visa extension.
Hi
If you have a normal Schengen Visa, there is another option and that is you can be in any country of Europe as a tourist for three months. I guess Peru need a visa to enter in any country of Europe.
Otherwise, you have to check with the German Embassy of your country, but usually the tramit for a wedding or "civil union" takes between two and three months.
Regrettably, the German Peruvian Embassy web site is crowded, I cannot get in but check here:

By the way, if you want to change your visa to a study visa, you need to demonstrate you have enought funds to live in Germany without help.
But I guess the best is you consult our specialist: Leo. Just search the web for his name. He is also peruvian!
Insisto, suerte
