Hi,

this is not a new law. The so called 'Pendlerpauschale' did excist till the 1st of January 2007, then the government canceld it.

At the moment there is only a 'Pendlerpauschale' from the 21st kilometer for people who have a really long way to work.

Now the politicians from the CSU start a new discussion, because there are some elections coming (in Bavaria in September) and they want to gain more voters.

Additionally the 'Bundesverfassungsgericht' our highest law court will make a decision shortly, if it was legal to cancel the 'Pendlerpauschale'. Therefore the government will not change anything before the law court publishs the decision.
