One parent travelling from Germany with child

Hi,

I am an expat currently residing in Germany with family. My wife plans to travel home with our child by themselves for vacation. Does she need authorization from me in written form to show passport control people?

Thanks,

Your Wife and Child might be traveling with
there own Passport and they might be having there own valid visa for Germany .
Why do you think they need a authorization letter from you ?

Re: One parent travelling from Germany with child

When my wife left Germany the passport control person asked for proof that she was mother of the child (German translation of the birth certificate was shown). She didn't need my authorization to go and I didn't think she would need it....

I don't know what would have happened if they did not carry the birth cert with them....
