India signs Social Security Agreements with Germany
Hello all,
Has anyone more info on the above topic? For example, when it says social security need not be payed:
(a) when does it actually come into effect? for whom, for those already here or for new comers?
(b) Social security payment exemption here menas to include all RV, KV and AV or only RV?

Re: India signs Social Security Agreements with Germany
Hello All
My understanding about the agreement is that it is only for the employees working for a short time (less than 5 years).
Therefore, NE leaving Germany after working for more than 5 years can still get the refund of all the pension money paid (not the employer contribution) by applying for it after leaving Germany for 24 months.
Is that correct?

@magi
If my understanding is correct then the FAQ of Trust7 is wrong.
Check this link http://trust7faq.wik.is/Pension_(Rente)
It is mentioned as follows:
Will I get my Pension refunded if I decide to leave Germany?
Yes, if you satisfy all of the below:
you dont have a German Citizenship
you dont belong to one of the Mitgliedstaates
you dont belong to one of the Abkommensstaates and have lived here for more than 5 years.
Especially, the last point clearly states that if you stay in Germany for more than 5 years and have a nationality to a abkommenstaaat (india) then you don't get it ...

Re: India signs Social Security Agreements with Germany
About your employer contribution to your pension pot. There is something called vesting period. If you have worked in the company for more than the vesting period (5 years usually), the employer contribution is added to your pension kitty.
This is your money. State Pension Fund cannot deduct this portion.
Employer contribution is a deferred compensation and to retain employees.
