Income Tax rebate on German course fees

Can someone clarify if the money we spend on German language course (not the integration course) can be claimed as tax refund ?

I read an article a while back saying that it cannot be claimed.

I don't have a link and don't remember where I read this.

Costs for language course is tax-deductible.You can claim it under skills-enhancement for the job market.

I remain with my initial claim that costs cannot be claimed.

I suppose we're dealing with german language courses here, check the article below as proof,

Complete refund is not allowed but you can claim part of it since it is tax deductible claimed under retraining of job market skills.

one cannot claim as per my steuerberater. German course is needed to live in this country and not considered as skill improvement.

Yes, if your company can give a letter saying it is compulsory for the job. Or if you are learning to be a bus/lorry driver or similar

Re: Income Tax rebate on German course fees

My tax consultant listed the fees of the german courses (which I took), and the books I bought for them on my tax application (last year).

So I guess, its possible.
